Acoustic Electric Strings is the creative inspiration of Gary E. Bartig, designer of the Eminence Portable Upright Bass, and the Dahlia 5-String Acoustic Violin, from G. Edward Lutherie.


After work on the design of an electric violin for more than 8 years, we realize that the best sounding electric violin is an amplified acoustic violin. Since then, we have developed an internal pickup that FAITHFULLY AMPLIFIES the acoustic tone of each violin WITHOUT ALTERING its acoustic tone. So the player has the best of both worlds!

The violins we offer are selected from manufacturers the world over for their superior tone, workmanship, woods, and value. Once here in our Minneapolis, Minnesota shop, we remove the top from each violin and install our custom internal pickup. The result is an affordable amplified acoustic violin that serves both the student and the professional player.
