Acoustic Electric Strings is the creative inspiration of Gary E. Bartig, designer of the Eminence Portable Upright Bass, and the Dahlia 5-String Acoustic Violin, from G. Edward Lutherie.


After more than 8 years of work designing an electric violin, we realize that the best sounding electric violin is an amplified acoustic violin. Our custom internal pickup FAITHFULLY AMPLIFIES the acoustic tone of each violin WITHOUT ALTERING its acoustic tone. It's the best of both worlds!

The violins we offer are selected from manufacturers the world over for their superior tone, workmanship, woods, and value. Once here in our Minneapolis, Minnesota shop, we remove the top from each violin and install our custom internal pickup. The result is an affordable amplified acoustic violin that serves both the student and the professional player.
